Estrella leads comprehensive marketing and business development strategies as Principal of SungLass Communications, a woman- and minority-owned business enterprise specializing in design, marketing, and outreach services for the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Her firm provides strategic communications consulting, brand development, and graphic design services, with specialized expertise in MWBE business support and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
With more than 20 years of AEC marketing experience, Estrella brings deep expertise across multiple project sectors including commercial development, institutional facilities, transportation infrastructure, and sustainable design. Her professional background includes marketing leadership roles at nationally recognized firms including Gensler, HDR, NBBJ, and Glumac/Tetra Tech, where she mastered proposal development, business development strategy, and client relationship management.
Estrella holds a Communications degree from the University of Washington and has established SungLass Communications as a trusted partner for Washington State government agencies, small businesses, and AEC firms seeking strategic marketing excellence.
Estrella demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and sustained commitment to advancing AEC marketing excellence through SMPS Seattle, where she served as Director of Education (2013-2014) and Fellows Forum Chair (2014-2016). Her board leadership focused on developing educational programming that enhanced professional capabilities for hundreds of Pacific Northwest AEC marketers.
As a Tabor 100 consultant, Estrella champions economic equity by providing technical assistance to minority-owned businesses, including marketing support for government contracting opportunities. Her work through the Liberty Project has helped emerging businesses develop competitive marketing materials and proposal strategies. In 2024, she secured a two-year Washington State Department of Enterprise Services contract for graphic design services, demonstrating both business development excellence and commitment to creating pathways for MWBE firms.
Estrella contributes to SMPS Seattle as a MULTIPLY mentor, guiding emerging professionals in career development, and serves as a Reign Awards judge, evaluating marketing excellence across the region. She authored “Honoring Histories: Filipino American History Month” for SMPS Seattle’s diversity initiatives and received the 2024 SMPS Seattle Membership Scholarship, recognizing her dedication to professional development and community engagement.
Her leadership extends to cultural equity work through volunteer service with 4Culture as a grant review panelist and support for King County’s Gathering Collaborative anti-racism initiatives.
