SMPS Washington DC member
AEC marketing professional
As Associate and Growth Manager at GHT, Anya drives corporate market sector and revenue growth for one of the largest locally owned and headquartered MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) consulting firms in the Washington, DC metro area. She partners with practice leaders to identify new opportunities, manage growth initiatives, and expand GHT’s reach in new and existing practice areas across commercial, institutional, and government real estate.
Given her insight and research into market trends, Anya works with each practice leader to cultivate partnerships that result in new connections, opportunities, and campaigns. In her role on GHT’s Corporate team, she collaborates with firm leaders to drive the strategy of the firm’s market and client growth. Her career at GHT has progressed steadily since joining in March 2021, advancing from Marketing Coordinator to Senior Marketing Coordinator before achieving her current Associate and Growth Manager position.
GHT, founded in 1965 by Goodwin “Goodie” Hunt Taylor, has grown to become a market leader through creative thinking and innovative MEP engineering solutions. With 90+ team members across five diverse studios, the firm has maintained its status as one of the DC area’s largest locally owned MEP firms, in contrast to the recent industry trend of mergers and acquisitions. The firm’s portfolio includes high-profile projects such as Amazon HQ2 (the world’s largest LEED v4 BD+C Platinum building), the White House, the Pentagon, USGBC headquarters, and major developments throughout the Washington, DC region.
Anya’s educational foundation combines a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Psychology from Christopher Newport University. This dual focus on business strategy and understanding human behavior informs her approach to market research, partnership development, and strategic growth planning.
Anya is a passionate advocate for elevating women in the industry. She serves as Membership Director for CREW Northern Virginia (CREW NoVA), where she drives membership recruitment, retention, and engagement for the chapter. In this leadership role, she works to advance opportunities for women in commercial real estate and the built environment. Prior to her current position, Anya served for two years on the CREW NoVA Board of Directors as Professional Development Director, where she created programming and educational opportunities for members.
Her dedication to professional development and industry excellence was recognized when she received the SMPS Washington DC Rising Star Award in 2023 at the chapter’s 40th anniversary event. This prestigious honor recognizes a current member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the field of marketing professional services and shown aptitude for leadership through contributions to the DC chapter. Anya also received SMPS DC Member of the Year recognition, further highlighting her active involvement and impact within the professional services marketing community.
Anya’s CPSM certification demonstrates her mastery of the six SMPS Domains of Practice: Market Research, Marketing Plan, Client and Business Development, SOQs/Proposals, Promotional Activity, and Information, Resource and Organizational Management. This credential represents the gold standard for AEC marketing professionals and validates her expertise in strategic marketing and business development.
Beyond SMPS DC and CREW NoVA, Anya extends her industry involvement to CoreNet MidAtlantic, where she continues to unlock new opportunities and partnerships for GHT. This multifaceted professional engagement across three major industry organizations—SMPS, CREW, and CoreNet—demonstrates her commitment to building networks, advancing the profession, and creating connections that drive both personal and organizational growth.
At GHT, Anya manages social media outreach across all channels, develops and distributes content, and optimizes engagement based on continual metrics assessment. She prepares and edits marketing and communications materials for internal and external audiences, working with stakeholders to create marketing collateral, presentations, and displays. Her background includes marketing coordination experience at Accumark Inc. (underground utility locating services), David Munson Insurance & Financial Services, and GORDON (professional consulting services), providing her with diverse perspectives on business development across sectors.
Anya’s professional philosophy centers on creating authentic partnerships and meaningful connections. She understands that sustainable growth comes from relationships built on mutual value and shared objectives. Her approach combines strategic market intelligence with genuine relationship-building, enabling her to identify opportunities that align with both client needs and firm capabilities.
