Koontz Electric Co. Inc., Morrilton, Arkansas, was awarded a $45,430,332 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a new Soo Locks electrical duct bank, including new duct bank, manholes, feeders, and a natural gas-fueled back-up generator system at the Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, project office. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 9, 2029. Fiscal 2026 construction, Corps of Engineers, civil funds in the amount of $45,430,332 were obligated at the time of the award.
