Renewable Energy Commitment: Duke Energy Progress to Deliver 4.8 Million Megawatt Hours to Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps

Duke Energy Progress LLC, Wilmington, North Carolina, has been awarded an estimated $248,000,000 fixed-price contract for 4.8 million megawatt hours of carbon pollution-free electricity to military installations. This was a sole-source acquisition using justification 10 U.S. Code 2922 (a), as stated in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. This is an 18-year contract with no option periods. Locations of performance are North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, with a Sept. 1, 2041, delivery order end date. Using military services are Army, Air Force and Marine Corps. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2024 through 2041 operations and maintenance funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Energy, Fort Belvoir, Virginia (SP0604-24-D-8000).
