Electricity Evolution: Fort Leavenworth Invests $34.8M in Utility Services Upgrade

Freestate Electric Cooperative Inc., Topeka, Kansas, has been awarded an estimated $34,792,828 modification (P00022) to a 50-year contract (SP0600-22-C-8242) with no option periods for privatized electric utility services at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This contract adjusts price changes to the utility system’s inventory services as well as for inflation. The performance completion date is Sept. 29, 2055. Using military service is Army. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2005 through 2055 Army operations and maintenance funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Energy, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
