Theresa leads marketing strategy and supervisory initiatives for Terracon Consultants’ Rocky Mountain Division, where she drives proposal development, team leadership, and visual communications for a 100% employee-owned engineering consulting firm with over 3,500 employees nationwide. As Marketing Lead, she orchestrates proposal teams, coordinates high-impact events, and creates polished marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Suite for environmental, geotechnical, construction materials, and facilities services across the western United States.
Her expertise encompasses proposal writing and technical editing for federal and non-federal engineering projects, RFP coordination, interview preparation, and comprehensive marketing strategy development. Theresa brings specialized knowledge in graphic design including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, combined with exceptional research and writing capabilities backed by an MA in Critical Studies from the University of Southern California and a BA in Film from Cornell University. With over 9 years of AEC industry experience, she has contributed to marketing excellence at prominent firms including JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE, an architecture and interior design firm specializing in hospitality, multi-family, and historic preservation projects.
Her unique academic foundation in critical analysis and visual storytelling enables highly effective communication strategies that position complex engineering services for competitive advantage in public and private sector markets.
Theresa demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and active service as Education Committee Chair (2024-2025) for SMPS Colorado, one of the top seven chapters nationwide serving 290+ AEC marketing professionals throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Her leadership role involves coordinating educational programming and professional development events that advance career growth for hundreds of marketing professionals across Colorado’s AEC community.
As SMPS Colorado Education Committee Chair and former committee member (2022-2024), Theresa develops and delivers programming that strengthens the entire regional AEC marketing profession. Her published thought leadership includes two significant articles in SMPS Marketer magazine: “New Leaders: Coming to Terms with Being the Boss,” addressing first-time supervisory challenges and employee retention strategies, and “What Does Safety Look Like for Marketing Professionals in A/E/C?” exploring workplace wellbeing and professional sustainability.
Beyond professional associations, Theresa serves as President of the Congress for the New Urbanism – Colorado Chapter, where she leads initiatives promoting walkable, mixed-use neighborhood development throughout the state. Her six-year involvement with CNU Colorado included progressive board leadership as Chapter President (2022), Secretary (2021), Treasurer (2019-2020), and Board Member (2017-2018). She also actively participates in Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, advocating for historic preservation, affordable housing, smart land use, and community engagement in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Her civic engagement extends to Toastmasters International’s Timberline Chapter in Denver, where she develops public speaking skills and provides constructive feedback to fellow members practicing formal presentations. Theresa’s entrepreneurial experience includes founding Terry Rabbit Cookies, a vegan cookie business that raised funds for Follow Your Heart Animal Rescue through its “10 Cents Per Cookie” campaign, demonstrating her commitment to purpose-driven business development and community impact.
