Teresa leads comprehensive marketing strategy for Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned engineering and architecture firm with 2,750+ employees serving infrastructure projects throughout the United States since 1971. Following JMT’s transformative 2025 merger with Clark Nexsen—creating one of the largest ESOPs in the AEC industry—she drives proposal coordination, business development, and marketing communications for a nationally recognized firm ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms.
Her expertise encompasses proposal preparation, business development strategy, graphic design, event management, market research, and project coordination across transportation, buildings and facilities, utilities, environmental services, and federal programs. Teresa brings specialized knowledge in pursuit strategy development, go/no-go decision support, and marketing communications serving government agencies and private sector clients throughout the Northeast corridor. With nearly 20 years of comprehensive AEC industry experience, she has contributed to marketing excellence at distinguished firms including Creighton Manning Engineering, The Louis Berger Group, McFarland-Johnson, and GeoEngineers.
Her prior experience providing management and communications services to professional trade associations—where she organized annual conferences and exhibit shows—provides exceptional event coordination and membership engagement capabilities that enhance AEC firm marketing and professional association leadership throughout her career.
Teresa demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and distinguished service as President of SMPS Upstate New York (2019-2020), followed by service as Past President (2020-2021). Her two-year presidential leadership guided the chapter serving marketing professionals across Upstate New York from Buffalo to Albany, encompassing the North Country to the Southern Tier, providing critical professional development, networking, and business development resources throughout the region.
Under her leadership, SMPS Upstate New York continued its tradition as a vital professional community where AEC marketers build relationships, advance skills, and create business opportunities. Teresa’s tenure coincided with significant industry transformation, requiring adaptive leadership to maintain member engagement, professional development programming, and chapter value during unprecedented change. Her commitment to chapter service reflects the collaborative, community-focused values that characterize JMT’s employee-owned culture and dedication to professional excellence.
Beyond SMPS leadership, Teresa actively supports her community through annual contributions to the Capital City Rescue Mission, Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society, American Red Cross, and Food Pantries for the Capital District. She has organized food drives and participated in both the Capital Region CANstruction and Hunger Heroes competitions, demonstrating commitment to civic engagement and community impact that extends beyond professional achievement to meaningful service addressing hunger and housing insecurity throughout New York’s Capital Region.
Teresa’s comprehensive educational foundation includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Technology Management from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, complemented by a Master of Science in Business Management and Bachelor of Science in Business/Public Management from SUNY Institute of Technology, plus an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill.
