Nate leads comprehensive marketing operations for Eckenhoff Saunders, a Chicago-based architecture, planning, and interior design firm specializing in healthcare, hospitality, commercial, K-12 education, and higher education markets. As Marketing Manager, he drives proposal development from inception to completion, manages interview strategy, and supports business development initiatives that position the firm for competitive advantage across multiple market sectors.
His expertise spans healthcare facility design, educational institution projects, hospitality venues, and commercial workplace environments serving both public and private sector clients. Nate brings specialized knowledge in proposal development, public relations, corporate communications, and strategic business development activities. With nearly two decades of AEC industry experience, he has contributed to marketing excellence at prominent Chicago-area firms including SmithGroupJJR, CTLGroup, Greeley and Hansen, and Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates.
His comprehensive understanding of the design process enables effective marketing support for award-winning projects, including Eckenhoff Saunders’ nationally recognized Howard Brown Health Halsted facility and the landmark Northlight Theatre project in downtown Evanston.
Nate demonstrates professional leadership through his CPSM certification achievement and active involvement with SMPS Chicago, one of the largest and most dynamic chapters in the organization with over 200 members representing top contractors, architects, engineers, and consulting firms throughout the Midwest. His volunteer contributions include serving as a cook and server at Ronald McDonald House events on behalf of the SMPS Chicago Board, supporting families whose children receive treatment at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
As an SMPS Chicago member, Nate contributes to programming that advances the regional AEC marketing community through professional development sessions, networking events, and collaborative initiatives. His board involvement reflects the commitment to professional excellence that characterizes Eckenhoff Saunders’ approach to architectural and interior design marketing.
Nate brings comprehensive experience in proposal writing, press releases, corporate communications, and business development spanning nearly 20 years across the AEC industry. His marketing leadership supports Eckenhoff Saunders’ recognition for award-winning projects including the nationally acclaimed Howard Brown Health Halsted facility, which received the 2024 AIA Healthcare Design Award, and the transformative Northlight Theatre project that will open in downtown Evanston in 2026.
