Michelle leads comprehensive pursuit coordination for JMT, an employee-owned, multi-disciplinary engineering firm serving infrastructure, buildings, transportation, and utilities markets nationwide. As Senior Pursuit Coordinator, she manages high-stakes proposal development and strategic capture planning for one of the industry’s most respected firms, ranked among Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms with over 2,200 employees across multiple states.
Her expertise spans the full spectrum of AEC marketing disciplines, including proposal management, business development strategy, capture planning, client relationship management, and strategic marketing communications. Michelle brings specialized knowledge in serving both public sector agencies and private clients across transportation infrastructure, higher education, K-12, government facilities, healthcare, and commercial development markets.
With over 20 years of comprehensive AEC industry experience, Michelle has contributed marketing excellence to prominent architecture and engineering firms throughout Colorado and beyond, demonstrating exceptional versatility across firm sizes, market sectors, and project scales. Her career trajectory reflects deep expertise in both national contractor marketing operations and specialized consulting for diverse AEC sectors including food service design, architecture, and engineering.
Michelle demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification and sustained contributions to the SMPS Colorado chapter, one of the top seven SMPS chapters nationwide representing over 290 members across the Rocky Mountain region. Her industry thought leadership includes national conference speaking engagements, with presentations at both the 2014 SMPS National Conference and the 2015 SMPS Southwest Regional Conference, where she shared expertise with hundreds of AEC marketing professionals.
As a published author in SMPS Marketer magazine, Michelle contributed the widely-referenced article “Many Roles, Many Hats: Perspectives from a Do-It-All Marketer,” which became the foundation for an SMPS national webinar helping marketers navigate multiple responsibilities effectively. Her writing addresses critical challenges facing AEC marketers including proposal efficiency, leadership engagement, and departmental resource optimization.
Michelle’s leadership extends through her years of service on SMPS Colorado’s Professional Growth Forum Committee, where she served as Committee Chair coordinating educational programming, professional development workshops, and peer learning opportunities that benefit the entire regional AEC marketing community. Her committee leadership helped establish educational frameworks that continue supporting marketing professionals at every career stage.
Her 20+ years of industry experience spanning architectural firms, engineering consultancies, general contractors, and specialized food service consulting firms provides valuable cross-sector perspective that enriches both individual professional development and organizational marketing excellence. Michelle’s MBA in Marketing from Regis University, combined with her BA in Language and Linguistics from the University of North Texas, demonstrates her commitment to combining strategic business acumen with effective communication skills.
