Melodye leads client relationship development and community engagement strategy for Joeris General Contractors, an employee-owned Texas construction management firm founded in 1967 with $10 billion in completed projects across the state. As Vice President and Shareholder, she directs business development initiatives across Joeris’ four offices (San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Houston), cultivating strategic partnerships with private and public owners, architects, and engineers serving commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, civil, and manufacturing markets.
With 25+ years of AEC relationship-building experience, Melodye brings specialized knowledge in construction marketing, having held progressive business development leadership roles at SpawGlass Contractors (employee-owned), Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, and Arias & Associates. Her expertise spans strategic capture planning, client relationship management, and positioning multidisciplinary teams for complex public and private sector opportunities. She excels in developing long-term partnerships built on trust and collaboration—principles that align with Joeris’ founding mission established by Leo Joeris.
Melodye’s comprehensive industry background encompasses commercial office, retail and mixed-use, healthcare, K-12 and higher education, industrial, and government facility construction. She holds a Banking & Finance degree from Del Mar College and has completed advanced leadership development programs including Leadership Through Teamwork (LtT) and Leadership Pipeline Program (LPP), which enhanced her capabilities in talent development, retention strategies, and recruitment of construction professionals.
Melodye exemplifies exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and distinguished service as Past President of SMPS San Antonio Chapter, where she was named Board Member of the Year (2010) and Marketer of the Year (2012). During her presidency, she created the Past Presidency Advisory Council to harness institutional knowledge for chapter growth and established the highly successful Owner Breakfast series—limited to 20 executives for intimate roundtable discussions on relevant AEC industry topics.
Her civic leadership extends far beyond professional marketing, demonstrating sustained commitment to San Antonio’s business community. Melodye served as Chairwoman of the Board for North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce (2022), leading one of Texas’ most influential business organizations. She previously held multiple Chamber leadership roles including Leadership & Professional Development Council Chair (2016) and served on the Executive Committee, Lead SA Committee, and Government Affairs Committee. Her Chamber involvement began as a 2008 Leadership Lab graduate, followed by service on the Leadership Alumni Board as Director, Sponsorship Chair, and ultimately President (2014).
The San Antonio Business Journal recognized Melodye’s leadership impact with two prestigious honors: the 2023 Women’s Leadership Award and inclusion in their 2012 “40 Under 40 Rising Stars.” She serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the 2024 American Heart Association San Antonio campaign and participated as a mentor in Mentoring Monday for Women (2017, 2018, 2021). Melodye is actively involved with the Greater New Braunfels Chamber as a Blue Coat and with the New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation.
Her commitment to community development includes volunteer service with Big Brothers Big Sisters, supporting mentorship programs that help children realize their potential and build their futures. Through greater:SATX’s Talent Pipeline Management Collaborative for Construction and Skilled Trades, Melodye champions workforce development initiatives, career awareness programs, and work-based learning opportunities that address critical talent needs in the construction industry, including expanding opportunities for women in construction.
Melodye’s leadership philosophy centers on building trust, fostering collaboration, and creating value for clients, colleagues, and communities—reflecting Joeris’ founding principle that “first build trust” established by Leo Joeris in 1967.
