Maddy brings comprehensive knowledge of Texas AEC markets gained through progressive experience supporting engineering firms that deliver innovative solutions for complex building systems and infrastructure projects across the state.
With six years of professional experience since graduating from Drake University in 2018, Maddy has built a career characterized by strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and commitment to advancing the AEC industry through professional excellence. Her educational foundation in marketing, communications, and sales combined with English writing expertise provides valuable cross-disciplinary perspective that enhances proposal quality and client messaging effectiveness.
Founded in San Antonio in 2006 by Wade Cleary and Danny Zimmermann, Cleary Zimmermann Engineers has grown into one of Texas’ leading MEP consulting firms recognized for technical excellence, service-oriented culture, and commitment to workforce development through programs like CZ University. Nearly 90 of the firm’s 130 employees remain based in San Antonio, where Cleary Zimmermann’s growth has mirrored the region’s demand for schools, healthcare facilities, and industrial projects including notable work like the JCB South Side manufacturing plant MEP design.
Maddy demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification earned in 2024 and active engagement with SMPS San Antonio as a program contributor and thought leadership advocate. Her commitment to advancing AEC marketing excellence extends beyond individual achievement to sharing strategic insights that benefit the broader professional community.
As a regular contributor to SMPS San Antonio educational programming, Maddy has documented key insights from regional conference sessions on topics including social media strategy, networking effectiveness, and leadership development. Her session summaries published through SMPS San Antonio communications help extend the value of conference learning to members unable to attend, demonstrating dedication to knowledge sharing and professional development access.
Maddy’s conference contributions include synthesizing insights from sessions such as “The Benefits of Being Social” covering social media best practices for AEC firms, “The Currency of Networking” exploring relationship-building strategies for career advancement, and “Mark My Words – How to Craft Your Leadership Journey from Doer to Manager” addressing the transition from individual contributor to management roles.
Her thought leadership emphasizes practical application of conference learning, with documented insights including: the importance of dedicated social media champions rather than diffused responsibility, strategic platform selection based on bandwidth and quality over quantity, and leveraging user-generated content from employees to expand reach authentically.
Beyond professional marketing achievements, Maddy demonstrates remarkable dedication to community service and social impact through her collegiate leadership in the Principal Community Scholars Program at Drake University. Selected among 25 college students from Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin for the 2018 class, Maddy received recognition and scholarship for developing community engagement tracking tools that improved Drake’s partnership effectiveness and institutional impact measurement.
Her community-focused project worked directly with Drake’s Director of Community Engaged Learning to improve institutional tools for tracking partnerships and analyzing community engagement data, enabling better collaboration across campus departments and increased university impact. This work demonstrates values of service, data-driven decision-making, and systems thinking that extend professional marketing expertise into meaningful community contribution.
