Professional expertise

Lindsay leads nu marketing llc as Chief Difference Maker, Founder & President, serving small to medium-sized architecture, engineering, and construction firms with strategic marketing and business development consulting. For more than 12 years, nu marketing has helped AEC firms create business-generating activities with realistic budgets, differentiate from competitors, and achieve measurable growth through comprehensive strategic planning, brand perception surveys, trade show implementation, and customer relationship management.

Her extensive expertise spans strategic marketing plan development, business development strategy, client relationship building, and professional speaking with specialized knowledge in helping firms start marketing departments from the ground up. Lindsay brings exceptional capability to create holistic visions for companies, seeing the complete picture rather than isolated pieces, which results in sustained company growth. She is also a marketing services advisor with Zweig Group, the premier authority in AEC management consulting and the go-to source for industry research and customized learning.

With 19+ years of AEC industry experience beginning in 2006, Lindsay has contributed to marketing excellence across the building and design industry including roles at Martin K. Eby Construction (where she brought in $9.6 million of contracts), DEN Management, Building Controls and Services (where she started the firm’s first marketing department), and now through nu marketing’s diverse client portfolio. Her comprehensive understanding of the AEC industry from construction operations through strategic marketing enables her to deliver measurable results for transformative projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors throughout the United States.

Industry leadership

Lindsay demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification, FSMPS fellowship designation, and transformative contributions to the AEC marketing profession as founding member of SMPS Wichita, three-time regional conference chair, sought-after professional speaker, and active multi-chapter leader. Her sustained commitment across multiple professional organizations and communities reflects deep dedication to elevating the entire profession through service, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

As founding member of SMPS Wichita Chapter in 2006, Lindsay served continuously on the board through 2016 in various capacities including President (2009-2010 and 2015-2016), President-Elect (2008-2009), and committee leadership in membership, sponsorship, and programs. During her first presidential term, she helped grow the chapter from 10 members to 55 members—a 450% growth demonstrating her recruiting and engagement capabilities. She currently serves as advisor to the SMPS Wichita board of directors, continuing to guide the chapter she helped establish nearly two decades ago.

Lindsay’s regional leadership includes serving three times as SMPS Missouri Valley Regional Conference Chair—for the 2013 conference in Wichita, the 2019-2023 conference cycle culminating in the 2022 Wichita conference, and continuing regional engagement. Her conference leadership involved coordinating volunteers, programs, sponsorships, and logistics for hundreds of AEC marketing professionals across multiple states. The 2013 conference received “raving reviews” for education, networking, and venue, establishing standards for regional conferences throughout the Heartland.

Beyond SMPS, Lindsay demonstrates cross-sector professional leadership as Program Chair for the Northwest Arkansas NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Chapter and Chair of the Business Development Council for National NAWIC. She also coordinates joint professional events with ULI Women’s Leadership Initiative, NAWIC, and Women of Architecture, demonstrating commitment to advancing women in AEC industries across multiple organizations.

Lindsay is a sought-after professional speaker and workshop facilitator, presenting at AGC national webinars, SMPS chapter and regional events, and industry conferences on topics including “Networking Like a Rock Star,” “Branding Yourself For Success,” LinkedIn training, social media strategy, business development, and effective communication. Her engaging presentation style and actionable takeaways have made her a popular conference speaker throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Lindsay is recognized with multiple honors including 2011 Wichita Business Journal 40 Under 40, 2022 Northwest Arkansas Business Journal Forty Under 40, and Pittsburg State University Distinguished Service Award for her instrumental role as volunteer, mentor, and Alumni Association Board of Directors member. She holds an MBA in Management and BBA in Management with Marketing minor from Pittsburg State University, representing her deep Kansas roots and commitment to her alma mater.

Her published works include articles on marketing plan characteristics, virtual business development, trade show success, and effective networking, demonstrating thought leadership beyond speaking engagements. Lindsay’s 12-year entrepreneurial journey with nu marketing reflects her determination to complete projects and bring new ideas to the AEC community while maintaining active involvement as Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, showcasing her diverse business interests and customer service passion.
