As a founding member of SMPS Utah when the chapter was chartered in 1990, Keri has been instrumental in building one of the industry’s most vibrant professional communities. She served on the chapter board of directors for 18 years in various capacities, including serving as Chapter President for three different terms. She has held every board position and served on every committee, demonstrating comprehensive leadership across all aspects of chapter operations. Her most recent board role as Director of Communications and Southwest Regional Conference Chair showcases her continued commitment to advancing the profession.
Keri’s leadership extends to creating lasting legacies within SMPS Utah, including helping establish the Marion Cook Emerging Professional Scholarship, which awards annual SMPS memberships to up-and-coming marketing professionals. This scholarship honors the late Marion Cook, a beloved chapter member and mentor, embodying the principle: “Do what you love and love what you do.”
As an accomplished speaker and coach, Keri has presented at SMPS conferences, AIA events, and IIDA programs, sharing her expertise in marketing strategy, client relationships, and business development. Her book recommendation “Clientship: Building Client Service Bridges to Profitability” is widely shared among AEC professionals, reflecting her commitment to educating the next generation of industry marketers.
Keri’s dedication to professional development and mentorship is evident in her approach to SMPS involvement. She credits the organization with providing the education and networking essential to her career success, noting that “without the education I have received from SMPS, I don’t know how I would have learned this technical industry.”
