Professional expertise

Kasey brings exceptional strategic marketing leadership and corporate communications expertise to transportation engineering, currently serving as Principal and Director of Corporate Marketing at DKS Associates, a 100% employee-owned national transportation planning and engineering firm. In this role, she oversees comprehensive marketing strategy for all modes of ground transportation—including automobiles, buses, light rail, streetcars, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, freight, bicycles, and pedestrians—across DKS’s eight offices spanning Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and Texas.

Her comprehensive expertise encompasses strategic marketing planning, corporate communications, proposal strategy and development, interview preparation, business development, and client relationship management. With 30+ years of experience in AEC marketing and business development, Kasey specializes in positioning firms within transportation, infrastructure, and public works markets serving municipal, regional, state, and federal clients.

Kasey’s strategic approach integrates branding, market research, lead generation, and competitive positioning to differentiate professional services firms in complex, competitive pursuits. Her expertise spans intelligent transportation systems, transit planning, traffic engineering, multimodal transportation, and electromobility solutions serving communities throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationwide.

Industry leadership

Kasey demonstrates extraordinary professional leadership through both her CPSM certification and her prestigious FSMPS designation, representing the highest level of achievement in AEC marketing. As a Fellow of SMPS, she has been recognized for sustained excellence and exceptional contributions to advancing the professional services marketing profession through decades of dedicated service, thought leadership, and national engagement.

Her most significant leadership contribution came through her service on the DKS Associates Board of Directors (2019-2022), where she served as Secretary and participated on both the Nominations and Governance Committees. During her board tenure, Kasey helped optimize the firm’s long-term value by overseeing management performance, establishing strategic direction, and ensuring fiduciary responsibility for the employee-owned corporation. This board service demonstrates exceptional strategic leadership beyond marketing, contributing to comprehensive organizational governance for a nationally recognized transportation engineering firm.

Kasey has been a prominent voice in national SMPS programming, participating as a panelist in the 2023 SMPS Pacific Regional Conference Fellows Forum on “The Future of Business Development and Marketing” alongside distinguished industry leaders. Her thought leadership on business development strategy and marketing excellence has informed professional development programming throughout the SMPS network, elevating practices across the AEC marketing community.

Her expertise in proposal development and competitive positioning has made her a sought-after presenter, including speaking engagements on “Proposing to Win” where she outlined prime versus subconsultant roles, Go/No Go decision frameworks, elements of winning proposals, and client perspectives on proposal evaluation. These presentations have helped countless AEC marketers improve their proposal success rates and strategic pursuit approaches.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kasey demonstrates profound commitment to honoring industry pioneers and mentors. She authored the SMPS Oregon memorial tribute for Lynn Parsons, a founding member of SMPS Oregon’s Speaker’s Bureau, recognizing Lynn’s 30+ year devotion to relationship-building, mentorship, and advancing the AEC marketing profession—exemplifying Kasey’s dedication to preserving and celebrating the profession’s legacy leaders.
