Julia specializes in executive coaching and leadership development for AEC industry professionals, bringing a unique combination of marketing expertise and certified coaching credentials. As an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, she works with marketing directors, business development leaders, and firm principals to build healthy communication habits that strengthen professional relationships and team performance.
Her coaching practice focuses on leadership accountability, emotional intelligence, and professional development for AEC marketing and business development professionals. Julia brings specialized expertise in helping marketers transition into leadership roles, navigate career challenges, and develop the communication skills essential for executive-level success.
With over 20 years of corporate AEC marketing experience at nationally recognized firms including HOK, Architectural Resources Group, Harris & Associates, and Taylor Design, Julia combines deep industry knowledge with professional coaching methodologies. She completed her coaching training at the University of California, Davis, through an ICF-accredited program, equipping her to support leaders at all organizational levels with evidence-based coaching techniques.
Julia demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and distinguished service to SMPS San Francisco Bay Area, where she served as Outreach & Development Co-Director (2019-2021), one of the chapter’s most influential board positions. In this capacity, she led strategic planning initiatives, professional development programming, and cross-organizational collaborations that elevated the entire regional AEC marketing community.
As Outreach & Development Co-Director, Julia oversaw critical chapter programs including the CPSM Study Group (which produces more certified professionals than any other SMPS chapter), Mentoring Pathways, Business Leaders’ Forum, Student Outreach, and community partnerships with complementary professional organizations. Her leadership transformed how the San Francisco Bay Area chapter supports members’ professional growth and career advancement.
Julia founded and facilitated the Business Leaders’ Forum (2017-2021), creating an executive-level peer learning community focused on leadership, management strategy, and overcoming organizational challenges. This forum became one of the chapter’s most valued programs for senior marketing leaders seeking confidential peer support and strategic guidance.
Beyond SMPS, Julia serves her community as Commissioner on the City of San Ramon Parks & Community Services Commission (appointed 2019, Chair 2022) and Vice President & Membership Director of the San Ramon Historic Foundation. She is a graduate of Leadership San Ramon Valley, demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement and community development.
Her multifaceted leadership approach—combining professional association service, coaching expertise, and civic engagement—exemplifies the broader impact CPSM-certified professionals bring to both the AEC industry and their communities.
