Jon leads comprehensive marketing and business development strategies for one of California’s oldest and most established architectural firms at 19six Architects, founded in 1906. As Marketing & Business Development Director, he oversees corporate marketing direction, operations, production, and strategic planning for a full-service firm specializing in educational facilities, healthcare, performing arts, civic structures, and master planning across California’s Central Coast and beyond.
His expertise spans over 30 years in architecture, engineering, construction, and planning (A/E/C/P) marketing, with specialized knowledge in proposal and qualifications production, interview coaching, business development for multi-office firms, and strategic marketing communications. Jon brings comprehensive capabilities in CRM and database management, client debriefing processes, competition and award submittals, and trade show coordination.
With deep experience serving K-12 schools, community colleges, universities, healthcare facilities, and municipal clients throughout California, Jon’s marketing leadership supports 19six’s century-long legacy of designing projects that enrich communities, combining strategic business development with a profound understanding of architectural excellence and public sector procurement.
Jon demonstrates exceptional professional leadership as a 2025 Fellow of SMPS (FSMPS), representing the highest level of achievement and experience in A/E/C marketing and business development. Named to the prestigious 2025 Class of Fellows, Jon built his career far from metropolitan chapter hubs, transforming SMPS into what he describes as a “professional lifeline” that helped him turn scattered early-career instincts into strategic expertise. As a Fellow, he champions marketers working beyond metro centers and advocates for micro-connections that make the profession visible as a strategic driver of vision, revenue, and culture.
His SMPS leadership includes serving as Chapter President for SMPS Inland Empire from 2012 to 2015, where he helped establish programming and professional development for marketers throughout Southern California’s Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Jon’s commitment to the profession extends to mentoring marketers who lack traditional chapter structures, helping them access resources and build meaningful networks across geographical boundaries.
Beyond SMPS, Jon demonstrated civic leadership through Leadership SLO Class V, a program advancing educational, cultural, and economic interests in San Luis Obispo County. His involvement reflects a commitment to community development that mirrors 19six’s century-long dedication to projects that enrich communities. Jon’s 30+ years of experience spanning graphic design, marketing management, and business development provides invaluable perspective that enhances both individual professional growth and organizational excellence throughout the A/E/C industry.
