Jennifer leads comprehensive marketing and business development strategy for Karpinski Engineering, a multi-office MEP engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, and civil engineering design. She directs marketing operations across six offices spanning Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Western New York, supporting a firm of over 130 engineers serving diverse markets including K-12 education, higher education, healthcare, corporate, municipal, and industrial sectors.

Her leadership extends beyond traditional proposal-focused marketing to encompass strategic brand development, thought leadership initiatives, digital marketing innovation, CRM implementation, and data analytics for business intelligence. Jennifer cultivates Karpinski’s “doer-seller” culture, working collaboratively with technical staff to pursue client development opportunities while positioning marketing as a strategic business driver rather than solely a support function.

With over 25 years of comprehensive AEC experience spanning architecture, engineering, and construction, Jennifer brings expertise in building marketing departments from the ground up, leading major brand initiatives, implementing technology systems, and developing pursuit strategies for large signature projects across public sector, institutional, and commercial markets.

Industry leadership

Jennifer’s exceptional contributions to AEC marketing earned her recognition as a Fellow of SMPS in 2021, joining an elite group of professionals who have demonstrated sustained excellence and significant impact on advancing the profession. Her FSMPS designation recognizes over 20 years of continuous service, thought leadership, and industry advancement through SMPS at chapter, regional, and national levels.

As a co-founding member of SMPS Northeast Ohio Chapter in 2001, Jennifer helped establish what has become a thriving 150+ member chapter serving Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and surrounding markets. She served as Chapter President (2011-2012), leading strategic initiatives that strengthened professional development programs, expanded networking opportunities, and deepened industry connections. Her sustained chapter leadership spans over 20 years in various board positions including Secretary, President-Elect, and Immediate Past President. She co-created the chapter’s signature annual fundraiser “Rock N Bowl” which has become a beloved tradition supporting industry education and advancement.

Jennifer currently serves as Chapter Advisor (2020-Present), providing strategic guidance to emerging chapter leaders while championing mentorship initiatives. Her national SMPS leadership includes service on the Professional Development Advisory Council (2020-2021) and multiple years as a Marketing Communications Awards juror, helping establish industry standards for marketing excellence while evaluating award-winning work from firms nationwide.

Beyond SMPS, Jennifer actively supports the next generation of AEC professionals through service on the ACE Cleveland Advisory Committee, championing programs that expose high school students to architecture, construction, and engineering careers.
