Courtney leads marketing and business development strategy for Tec Inc. Engineering & Design, a multidisciplinary MEP engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design. She oversees proposal development, client relationship management, and digital presence for a firm serving healthcare, education, corporate, industrial, and civic markets throughout Ohio and neighboring states. Her leadership extends the firm’s business development capabilities while supporting technical staff in building lasting client partnerships.
As Co-Owner and Director of Marketing for Zinkon Creative Studio, a WBENC-certified women-owned lighting and technology design firm, Courtney drives strategic partnerships and business growth. The studio transforms spaces through innovative lighting design and technology integration, serving diverse markets including libraries, higher education, hospitality, and civic projects. This dual role demonstrates her expertise in both traditional engineering services marketing and specialized design consultancy.
With over 25 years in AEC marketing, Courtney brings comprehensive experience spanning civil engineering, architecture, construction, and specialized design services across public sector, institutional, commercial, and healthcare clients.
Courtney’s exceptional AEC marketing leadership earned her recognition as a Fellow of SMPS in 2022, joining an elite group of professionals who have demonstrated sustained excellence and significant contributions to advancing the profession. Her FSMPS designation recognizes over 20 years of continuous service, mentorship, and industry advancement through SMPS at local, regional, and national levels.
As SMPS Columbus Chapter President (2013-2014), Courtney led a volunteer force of over 70 members supporting a 150-member chapter. Her presidential year achievements included leading nine monthly programs (three partnering with other industry associations), maintaining CPSM study groups and mentor-protégé programs, organizing charity events raising $20,000 annually, creating new member awards recognizing volunteer excellence, and managing a $60,000 annual budget. She served over seven years on the chapter board and currently serves as Past President advisor while chairing mentorship initiatives.
Her national SMPS leadership includes serving as Conference Chair for Amplify A|E|C 2025, the industry’s premier annual conference bringing together thousands of AEC marketing professionals. She previously served as Registration Co-Chair for SMPS Heartland Regional Conference and currently participates on the Professional Development Advisory Committee. As an MCA juror, Courtney helps establish industry standards for marketing excellence while evaluating award-winning work from firms nationwide.
Courtney’s commitment to developing the next generation includes mentoring multiple marketing professionals through SMPS Columbus mentorship programs and championing initiatives supporting women entering STEM careers.
