Christine leads strategic marketing and business development consulting as Principal of JOY Marketing Consultants, a specialized consulting practice serving contractors, design firms, and vendors throughout Colorado’s built environment. Founded in 2020, JOY Marketing Consultants provides expert support in proposal development, strategic marketing communications, brand positioning, workforce recruiting, marketing staff career development, social media strategy, website development, event planning, and presentation coaching. Her team helps start-up and emerging businesses accelerate growth while assisting established firms reposition themselves for competitive advantage and sustained revenue growth.
Her expertise spans comprehensive marketing strategy development, business development program creation, client relationship management, brand presence enhancement, team leadership, vendor management, and professional mentoring across architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate sectors. Christine brings specialized knowledge gained from a distinguished 30-year career journey working with architects, engineers, general contractors, and specialty subcontractors, providing tactical insights that drive measurable business results.
With over three decades of professional services marketing experience, she has built an exceptional career supporting both small firms and major national companies throughout the AEC industry. Her comprehensive background includes nearly eight years as Director of Marketing at JE Dunn Construction leading marketing for the Western region, three years as Marketing Department Manager at Martin/Martin managing a five-person team producing over 1,500 qualifications and proposals annually, and 17 years as Associate and Marketing Manager at Gordon, Gumeson and Associates where she became the firm’s only non-technical shareholder, demonstrating the value marketing professionals bring to firm ownership and strategic leadership.
Christine demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification, SMPS Fellowship (FSMPS), and historic service as two-time past president of SMPS Colorado, one of the most active and influential chapters in North America. Her presidential leadership terms helped shape strategic direction for hundreds of Colorado AEC marketing professionals while establishing programs and initiatives that continue benefiting the chapter decades later. She currently serves on the SMPS Professional Development Committee at the national level, contributing to educational programming and career advancement resources serving 7,000+ SMPS members across North America.
In 1997, Christine received the prestigious Leonardo Award, SMPS Colorado’s highest honor recognizing lifetime achievement in marketing excellence. This recognition, given to only the most distinguished contributors to Colorado’s AEC marketing profession, came remarkably early in her career, demonstrating exceptional impact and leadership from her earliest professional years. The Leonardo Award places Christine among an elite group of Colorado AEC marketing pioneers who have fundamentally shaped the profession’s development and standards throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
Christine’s extensive involvement across multiple professional organizations includes leadership roles in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association), Society for College and University Planners (SCUP), and Rocky Mountain APPA Leadership in Educational Facilities. She currently serves on ULI Colorado’s Office Workplace and Industrial Council, contributing strategic insights on commercial real estate development and workplace design trends that influence marketing strategies throughout Colorado’s development community.
