Bridget leads brand strategy and marketing communications for one of Illinois’ most established commercial construction firms at O’Shea Builders, a fourth-generation family company founded in 1902. As Brand Director, she shapes the firm’s brand identity and market positioning across multiple offices in Springfield, Peoria, Decatur, and Champaign, supporting a comprehensive construction services portfolio including general contracting, construction management, design-build, civil, and building services.
Her expertise spans construction marketing across K-12 education, healthcare facilities, higher education institutions, faith-based organizations, commercial developments, industrial projects, and municipal and government facilities throughout Central Illinois. Bridget brings specialized knowledge in brand development, proposal writing, and strategic communications for the commercial construction sector.
With over 28 years of professional writing and marketing experience including journalism, editorial leadership, and brand strategy, she has built a distinguished career path from Springfield Business Journal editor to business owner to construction industry marketing leader. Her journalism background and advanced brand strategy certification inform her approach to construction storytelling and strategic positioning.

As a published editor and content strategist, Bridget has contributed to multiple horror novels as editor, working with Springfield-area authors to bring creative projects to publication. Her editorial expertise complements her construction marketing work, bringing narrative storytelling skills to technical proposal development and brand communications.
Bridget’s journalism career includes serving as Editor of Springfield Business Journal from 2006-2010, where she covered local business development and economic trends. She previously held editorial positions at National Safety Council and Pioneer Press, building foundational skills in professional communication and content strategy that she now applies to AEC industry marketing.
