Bonnie leads strategic business development for PCL Construction, one of North America’s largest general contractors, where she focuses on water and environmental infrastructure projects that protect natural resources and serve communities. Her expertise centers on strategic pursuit management, capture planning, and developing winning proposals for complex civil infrastructure programs across transportation, water systems, and environmental facilities.
With 30 years of AEC marketing experience, Bonnie brings specialized knowledge in water infrastructure marketing, having previously led pursuits at Brown and Caldwell and Kittelson & Associates. Her career spans transportation engineering, environmental engineering, water resources, and sustainable infrastructure sectors. She excels in creating strategic approaches to client relationship development, preparing teams as trusted advisors through interview coaching and pursuit planning.
Bonnie holds advanced certifications including ENV SP (Envision Sustainability Professional) and Associate DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America), complementing her infrastructure marketing expertise. Her educational background includes certificates in conflict management from UC Irvine Extension and urban infrastructure management from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), providing technical depth that enhances her marketing strategy capabilities.
Bonnie exemplifies exceptional professional leadership through nearly three decades of SMPS involvement, beginning as a member in 1998 and achieving her CPSM certification in 2005. She has served SMPS Orange County in progressively responsible roles including Director of Education (2017-2018) and Chapter President (2020-2021), leading the chapter through the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining valuable member programming and education opportunities.
As SMPS Orange County President, Bonnie established the chapter’s Professional Development Committee, creating one-on-one career growth opportunities tailored to individual member needs. Her leadership philosophy centers on providing value and giving back to sponsors, members, firms, and communities. She has maintained active SMPS membership across multiple states throughout her career, benefiting from and contributing to chapters wherever her professional journey has taken her.
Bonnie serves as an expert trainer, facilitator, presenter, and moderator for professional development initiatives, sharing her extensive pursuit management expertise with AEC marketing professionals. She participates in multiple industry organizations including WateReuse Association committees (advocacy, communications, education), Design-Build Institute of America collaborative delivery initiatives, and Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) Orange County as a scholarship application reviewer.
Her commitment to professional certification and continuing education reflects her belief that industry credentials accelerate career growth and deepen professional capabilities. Throughout her career, Bonnie has led pursuits totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in new work, demonstrating the business impact of strategic marketing excellence.
