Amanda leads marketing strategy for Cochran, Inc., a third-generation, family-owned electrical and technology contractor with over 50 years of experience designing and installing infrastructure throughout the Pacific Northwest. As Marketing Manager, she oversees strategic communications, business development support, and corporate branding for a woman-owned specialty contractor recognized for innovation and seamless execution across complex electrical, audio/visual, security systems, communications, and marine shore power projects.
Her expertise spans multiple construction sectors including public works (libraries, performance halls, public safety facilities, parks, government campuses), commercial buildings, historic landmark revitalization, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Amanda brings specialized knowledge in marketing for electrical and technology contractors serving public and private sector clients throughout Washington and the broader Pacific Northwest region.
With international experience and diverse professional background, she has developed comprehensive expertise in AEC marketing, event management, and strategic communications. Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Art History from Northern Arizona University and postgraduate studies at University College Dublin, Ireland. This unique combination of art history expertise and construction marketing experience enables her to effectively communicate technical concepts while appreciating the cultural significance and community impact of built environment projects.
Amanda demonstrates exceptional professional leadership through her CPSM certification achievement and distinguished service to SMPS Seattle, one of the nation’s third-largest chapters with 300+ members. She currently serves as Director of Special Events and Pacific Regional Conference Chair, leading the chapter’s signature programming that celebrates member achievements, creates networking connections, and supports the AEC community through scholarship programs and professional development initiatives.
Her SMPS leadership includes coordinating the prestigious Reign Awards, Seattle’s premier celebration of regional marketing excellence. In 2019, Amanda led the transformation to online submissions, modernizing the awards process while maintaining the program’s high standards. Colleagues describe her as bringing “a high level of organization” with “ability to prioritize tasks and keep everyone on track,” making large-scale campaigns “less daunting and more focused on satisfying solutions.” Her collaborative leadership style encourages team members to “utilize their unique skillset in a way that fills in gaps on project needs,” and she is recognized for having “a great eye for detail and design.”
Beyond SMPS, Amanda has demonstrated sustained commitment to community leadership and professional service. She serves as President of Irish Network Seattle, a business and social network supporting professional connections and strengthening economic, social, and cultural ties between American and Irish businesses in the Pacific Northwest. She served on the board of the Holocaust Center for Humanity (2021-2022), an organization that teaches Holocaust lessons to inspire students of all ages to confront bigotry, promote human dignity, and take action. Previously, she participated in the Ambassadors for Change program, a cohort of young adults raising funds and awareness for the Holocaust Center’s mission.
Amanda’s unique background includes experience working at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin, Ireland, one of the world’s most significant collections of manuscripts and rare books. This international cultural experience, combined with her art history education, brings distinctive perspective to construction marketing and appreciation for how buildings shape community identity and cultural legacy.
