BL Harbert Wins $171.5M Contract for Alabama Data Center and Lab Conversion

BL Harbert International LLC, based in Birmingham, Alabama, has been awarded a $171.5 million firm-fixed-price contract to renovate existing administrative facilities into a modern data center, laboratory spaces, and upgraded offices. The project was competitively bid online, with three proposals submitted. Construction will take place in Huntsville, Alabama, and is scheduled for completion by April 21, 2028. Funding for the award comes from FY 2024 and 2025 military construction funds and FY 2026 defense-wide research, development, test, and evaluation funds, totaling $171,506,091 at the time of contract execution. The overall contract value, including all potential options, is $194,861,091. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is overseeing the contract (Contract No. W91278-26-C-A004).
